04 Mar School Closure – Update
Wednesday, March 4, 2020
We have received advice from the local authority and Public Health England. As the child (in KS1) of the parent in question is not exhibiting any symptoms, the risk of covid-19 transmission is minimal. We are awaiting the outcome of the extended family’s tests and the response will be coordinated by Public Health England which includes isolation and treatment if necessary.
However, we have been trying to schedule a deep clean of the whole school premises for some time. Currently, we have had high numbers of norovirus type illnesses and we also have a mouse infestation. As such, we are closing the school for one day (Thursday 5th March) to enable us to carry out a deep clean and any preventative measures as advised by Public Health England. The school will reopen on Friday 6th March and we will update you via the school website.
There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus amongst our pupils and staff. Please go to the Public Health England website for advice on hygiene and handwashing, which will help to minimise transmission.
