Welcome to Lyndhurst’s Summer Home Learning, which begins on Monday 13th July. Please see the online video on the school website to give you an opportunity to hear staff talk about some creative activities your child can take part in over the holidays.
There are two pages, containing twelve activities that you can explore with your child. Some of the activities can be carried out independently without much adult support and others may be nice to complete together with a parent or as a family.
The tasks have been created to promote engagement inside and outside over the summer. We also hope the tasks encourage your child to use their imagination and personalise their learning further.
You can do as many activities as you want. There is no need to upload the work, as we wanted to make a clear distinction from the previous home learning. Instead, we kindly ask that you take photos and keep all the children’s work so they can bring in and share these with their teacher in September, to support their transition back to full time learning and reconnect with their peers with their shared experiences.
Although you can do as many activities as you want, we would really like all children to customize a piece of clothing with the school colours, green and yellow that they can wear on the first day of term. This is to really celebrate and unify us all being back together as a school community for the first time since March.
We would also appreciate if the children can take part in the photography challenge on capturing a photo that depicts summer. This will enable us to create a whole class and school display on the children’s return.
We really hope you and your child have lots of fun interacting with these experiences and making more memories. We look forward to seeing all your creations in September.
