05 Feb Lyndhurst v Ivydale Netball match
Lyndhurst Netball Club competed in our first ever match on Thursday 23, January against the very experienced Ivydale team. In the first quarter, Ivydale were quick to score their first goal. However, Lyndhurst showed that they were not going to be easily beaten and our central players impressively got the ball past the Ivydale defence, allowing our goal shooter, Maja, a chance to equalise. This was no easy feat as the Ivydale goalkeeper towered over her, but with steely determination, she scored.
Our defence players needed to work hard in the next quarters and they made some great interceptions of the ball, continually stopping Ivydale from scoring. The final score was 4-1 to Ivydale. Lyndhurst was not down-hearted by this result as they knew how well they had played against this more experienced team. Our team have definitely learnt a lot about playing in a match. Ivydale recognised some great Lyndhurst talent and voted Ishan and Xanthe as players of the match.
A huge well done to everyone who played and a big thank you for those that came to cheer on the team.
We will be training hard next week for our netball match on the 6th February at Belham Primary.
