The Nursery day starts at 8.45am with a chance to chat with other parents and the teacher. Children self-register with their photo and then participate in a short whole class teaching session involving singing, dancing, and drama. Afterwards, children have free-flow time to explore the indoor and outdoor environment with open-ended resources and adult-led activities to develop new skills. The focus is on encouraging resourcefulness, independence, and curiosity with messy play and a focus on caring for the environment. There is a short carpet session before lunch, with an emphasis on maths or phonics. Lunch is served family-style with the nursery team encouraging children to try a variety of foods. After lunch, there is more free-flow time and a quick register, song, and story before home time at 3pm.
