The Scoop Week 20th Feb 2024

I feel so lucky this week, as I am sitting in a room filled with framed pieces of art ready to go up on the walls around the school in the frames generously donated by Friends of Lyndhurst. The quality of the artwork has been exceptional and commented upon by every visitor I have had. The frames will be up well before this half term’s parents evening when you will all have a chance to view them for yourself.

Here are this week’s notices:

Dietary Requirements and Food Allergies:

We have doubled down on the system we use with our kitchen staff to ensure that they are aware of food allergies and requirements. In addition to the paper based information provided to the staff, pupils will now have a yellow lanyard (whilst they are at the servery). This does not include halal or vegetarian children.  If yout hink we may not have the correct information about your child, please log into My Child At School to check and if needs be change the information.

Parents Evening:

Parent consultations for Nursery- year six will take place on Wednesday 20th March and Thursday 21st March. Bookings will go live next week with details being in The Scoop.

Lost Property:

We think many of your children must have empty wardrobes as our lost property is bulging. This Friday at the end of the day we will lay out all of the lost property, please check if any of it is yours. Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity or added to the school emergency clothing collection.

Parent Code of Conduct:

With so many new parents starting this half term, we thought it useful to give a reminder of The Charter Schools Educational Trusts’ Parent Code of Conduct. This explains our expectation of all members of our non-staff adult community. You can view it here.

Being Safe Online:

Following on from our recent online safety parent session, in the coming weeks we will be directing you to one of the brilliant parent guides available on our website. This week’s guide is on ‘Among Us’. You can view the guide here.

Updated FOL Minutes:

The minutes from the last meeting have been revised slightly to better reflect the conversation had, the new minutes can be found here.

Camberwell New Sculpture:

There will be a public consultation on Saturday, 24thFeb between 12:00-15:00 at Bowyer Place to discuss a new sculpture being installed in Camberwell. This is a great opportunity to meet an incredible artist, Sokari Douglas Camp (a Nigerian born, London based sculpture).

That’s it from us, have a great week.
