Hello Lyndhurst Family,
It was lovely to see so many Lyndhurst families at last week’s International Evening. Despite the weather putting a damper on our plans and stopping us from getting all of the flags up and out it was still a great success. Yet again we were amazed with the variety and quality of the food donated and this year we had lots of people wearing clothing that represented their heritage.
Here are this week’s announcements:
Individual and Sibling Photographs: On Wednesday 22nd November we have our individual and sibling photographs being taken.
Free Sports Clubs:We are delighted to open up bookings to a range of free to access sports clubs taking place at Lyndhurst. The sessions are funded through a grant application we successfully gained and take place after our normal Beyond the Curriculum club offer (5:30pm). Full booking details can be found here. There are hockey, tennis and gymnastics clubs running on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Book your spot before they fill up.
Stay & Play: The first stay and play session takes place on Friday starting at 9am and running until 10:30am. Anyone with a child under 3 years old is welcome to join.
FOL Winter Woodland Fair:Mark your calendars and get ready for our Woodland Winter Fair on Saturday, December 2nd!Join our school community to get into the festive spirit with lively music, exciting crafts, and games like tombola and lucky dip! Indulge in delicious Caribbean food and cakes.Don't miss your chance to win big in the raffle or a visit to Santa's grotto!FOL are asking for donations of prizes to be dropped at reception from 27th. See poster for more details.
PE Kits: Whilst our school uniform is optional we do ask that for PE sessions and school trips that pupils wear green tops and black bottoms. For trips this is because it adds another layer of safety to have conformity of clothing and for PE because we need to ensure that pupils have clothing that is suitable and safe for PE lessons. Please support us in ensuring that your child wears the correct clothing on PE and trip days.
Festive Lane: Some of you will know that every year as winter draws in, staff decorate the front of the school to mark the festive season. We are asking that if you have any evergreen branches that we can use, that you bring them in before Thursday please.
Wet Play Toys: Last week we had our first wet play of the academic year. If you have any complete board games, Lego or other toys that might be useful for wet play that you would like to donate then please drop them off at the school office.
Christmas Tree Fundraiser: Last year we raised £2300 though the sale of Christmas Trees. This year we will have two collection dates: Thursday 30th November and Friday 7th December. You can purchase your tree on the online shop with more details available on here. Please spread the word as anyone can order a tree through our site not just school families
.Charter Parent/Carer Webinars: There still a few spaces remaining on the second of Emma Gleadhill’s free parent/carer webinars for parents and carers of children and young people in our schools. Join us on Tuesday 28 November when Emma will be talking about Understanding Anxiety & Building Resilience in Children & Young Adults. Find out more below and sign-up using the QR code on the poster:
Southwark Playhouse: A new youth theatre has launched in Southwark, see the poster for details.
